Ghana, located on the West Coast of Africa, is renowned for its diverse culture, warm and hospitable people, transparent judiciary, socio-political stability, and a vibrant economy.

In recent years, Ghana’s economy has outperformed the global and sub-Saharan African economies, enhancing its profile as an attractive investment destination. Ghana’s investment attractiveness received international acclaim when the World Investment Report, published by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) identified Ghana as the highest recipient of Foreign Direct Investment in West Africa in 2018. This has also resulted from government initiatives such as the legal changes that have sought to address challenges to the country’s development into the business hub of West Africa.

Reputed for being the best place to do business in West Africa as per the World Bank’s annual Ease of Doing Business Report in 2019, Ghana has an outstanding track record of delivering return on investment across all key sectors of the economy. The country’s labor force is recognized for being amongst the most literate in Sub-Saharan Africa, with high productivity and process optimization levels as wells susceptibility to being trained and re-trained for all types of business processes. Ratings agency Fitch revised the outlook on Ghana’s credit rating from negative to stable and affirmed their B credit rating, mainly due to progress made in stabilizing the economy with an expected improvement of GDP growth, declining inflation, a stable currency and increased foreign exchange reserves.

Ghana has a solid tradition of investments in agriculture and agro-processing. The financial services and telecommunications sectors are fast gaining ground, providing dynamic and innovative services to the most diverse customers in the world. Further opportunities exist in manufacturing, ICT, and Tourism. Mineral deposits including gold and diamond abound, and with the discovery of oil, Ghana’s famous black star has never shone brighter

Ghana’s resilient democratic system of governance has provided for seven violence- free credible elections and a smooth transition in government in all cases. The Constitution provides a clearly defined separation of powers among the legislative, executive and judicial arms of government. This has been touted by the World Justice Projects Rule of Law Index, naming Ghana as having the Best Judicial System in the world (2017-2018).

Notable among them has been the CFI – FDI Awards which celebrates excellence in global FDI and the Best Investment Promotion Agency (IPA) in West and Central Africa Award at the Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) Awards in Dubai. The AIM Investment Awards, recognizes Investment Promotion Agencies (IPA) for their outstanding work in successfully attracting sizable and beneficial foreign direct investment projects that contribute to the national economic growth and development of their countries.
